wedding photographer raleigh nc

This blog post is about my first wedding in Raleigh, NC. Although I’ve been a photographer for 10+ years moving across the country has brought my photography business to an interesting place of “starting over”. Well, I am not really starting over but it definitely feels like it since I need to build brand new connections and a new client base. Well, on the positive side since I’ve been in the photography business for so long I do not need to worry about building my portfolio or learning the trade.

Those who follow me on Instagram or recently visited my website know that my family and I moved from California to North Carolina in the spring of 2021. The main reason was my husband’s job. So far we really like NC but to be honest I do miss Cali sometimes! There are so many people moving all over the country due to many reasons, COVID-19 Pandemic being one of them. With all this shifting of people, I assume many small businesses are in the same shoes as I am and finding themselves in the position of starting over. I’m planning on writing a few posts about my journey of relocating a photo business across the country.

I believe that building connections are the most important in building any business. There’s nothing better than a great group of people with who you can network and learn together and support each other. Therefore right after moving I’ve started reaching out to vendors I’d like to work with and collaborate with. I was lucky to attend a NACE networking event where I’ve met some wonderful people now I call friends! There are so many weddings in Raleigh, NC that I am sure I will be quite busy next year!

One of the first wedding pros I’ve met in NC was Nikki, the owner, and photographer at Fancy This Photography. Even though we’ve known each other just for a few months I feel like we’ve known each other forever! I was so happy when Nikki asked me if I can help shoot one of her weddings. Immediately I said YES! Even though the wedding was on my actual birthday 😉 Check out some of the photos I’ve taken at this gorgeous wedding at Walnut Hill in Raleigh, NC. Thanks, Nikki for this opportunity!!! I’m looking forward to photographing many more weddings in Raleigh, NC.
