The natural light is stunning year-round, which makes it an absolute joy to photograph at this stunning venue!
The estate grounds include sweeping lawns, a tranquil pond, centuries-old trees, manicured gardens, and elegant architecture—all of which provide breathtaking backdrops for portraits and candid moments. The estate’s layout encourages movement and exploration, which naturally leads to a wide variety of images that feel spontaneous and authentic. As a Landon Estate wedding & elopement photographer I appreciate how many pictueresque location this beautiful venue has to offer.
What Makes the Venue Unique
Every wedding venue has its strengths, but Landon Estate stands out in several ways:
1. Timeless Space
The estate house, with its wrap-around porch, beautiful staircase, and symmetrical design, is the epitome of Southern elegance. It exudes character without overshadowing the personal touches that couples bring to their day. This kind of setting allows me to craft images that are both timeless and deeply personal.
3. Indoor and Outdoor Flexibility
Landon Estate boasts both stunning outdoor spaces and elegant indoor areas. The ceremony lawn is framed by greenery and provides plenty of space for creative seating arrangements and floral installations. The pecan and oak trees frame the space beautifully! The indoor ballroom is equally impressive, offering a polished space with high ceilings, chandeliers, and neutral tones that complement any wedding color palette. The historic home offers southern charm and perfect space for getting ready, a cocktail hour, or a rehearsal dinner. All these spaces photograph beautifully.
4. Farm-To-Table Full-Service Catering
Landon Estate offers Under The Oak full-service catering. This five-star farm-to-table company focuses on local sourcing and custom menus, they prioritize North Carolina’s produce! As a chef-owned company, they emphasize food quality, service, and sustainability, opting for non-GMO ingredients whenever available. Did I mention their food is absolutely delicious?!!
Why I Love Working at Landon Estate

As a wedding & elopement photographer, I often find myself being more than just a vendor—I’m a storyteller, a guide, and often a calming presence on one of the most important days of my clients’ lives. When I work at Landon Estate, I know the day will unfold in a way that allows me to do my best work.
1. Light, Light, Light
Photographers chase light, and Landon Estate delivers. The estate was clearly designed with an understanding of how natural light enhances an experience. The golden hour here is magic. Whether I’m capturing a couple’s first look on the shaded front porch or sneaking them away for sunset portraits by the pond, I know the images will be bathed in warm, flattering light.
2. Endless Creative Possibilities
I never photograph two weddings the same way—even at the same venue. But Landon Estate offers so many unique angles and hidden corners that it feels fresh every time I visit. Whether a couple wants a classic editorial look or something more candid and documentary-style, the environment supports the vision.
3. The Experience
It’s the peaceful setting and the venue’s team that make weddings at Landon Estate have a relaxed, joyful rhythm. The Landon Estate team has a carefully curated list of event professionals passionate about providing a high-quality service and exceptional guest experience! Guests feel like they’re part of something special. And when people feel comfortable and celebrated, it translates into genuine photographs.
A Real Wedding Day at Landon Estate

Let me walk you through a typical wedding timeline at Landon Estate and how I capture each part:
Getting Ready
The bridal suite is spacious, filled with soft natural light, and designed with elegant furnishings—perfect for detail shots of the dress, shoes, invitations, and those precious candid moments between the bride and her bridesmaids. Meanwhile, the groom’s suite allows the groom and groomsmen to hang out and get ready in a comfortable place. What I love about the getting ready at Landon Estate is that both suites are far from each other which makes it easier for me to avoid the bride and groom from seeing each other before the ceremony.
First Look and Portraits
The estate’s patio, spring bloom garden or the porch overlooking the grounds makes for a private and picturesque first look. I often recommend couples do a first look because it allows for a relaxed portrait session before the ceremony and helps ease nerves. At the same time I honor couples’ wishes to skip the first look since it is a truly a personal decision. Either way, there is no wrong or right way and what is the most important is to make the day uniquely yours!
Ceremony
The outdoor ceremony lawn is ideal for both small and large gatherings. My goal during the ceremony is to capture both the couple’s reactions and the emotions of their guests. This way I cover the “must have” shots as well as candid, authenitic images that tell the story of an unforgettable day. The backdrop of mature trees and open field creates a cinematic atmosphere.
Cocktail Hour
While guests enjoy drinks on the patio or stroll the gardens, I take wedding party and formal family photos as well as couple portraits. If the couple chooses to have a first look, those portraits are taken before which gives me time to photograph the guests’ mingling as well as additional portraits of the newlyweds.
Reception
During golden hour, if time allows, I love to take the bride and groom out for an additional couple portraits. These images often become some of the couple’s favorites—warm, relaxed, romantic and full of love. When it comes to the reception, the indoor ballroom indeed glows at night. String lights, candles, and uplighting transform the space into a romantic, celebratory haven. From the grand entrance to the last dance, I document the laughter, toasts, and tears with a blend of candid and composed images.
Tips for Couples Planning a Landon Estate Wedding

If you’re considering this stunning venue for your celebration, here are a few tips from a Landon Estate wedding & elopement photographer:
1. Schedule Time for Golden Hour Photos
Trust your photographer when they suggest a quick 15-minute session during sunset. Landon Estate truly shines in this light, and the resulting portraits are often the most emotional and ethereal.
2. Lean Into the Estate’s Style
The venue lends itself beautifully to both classic Southern elegance and modern minimalism. Work with your planner to design florals, signage, and décor that harmonize with the surroundings rather than compete with them.
3. Use the Full Grounds
There are multiple gorgeous areas for ceremony, cocktail hour and portraits. Allocate time in your timeline to explore at least a couple of these locations for more variety in your album. While I like to stay in one location for wedding party and family photos, when it comes to couple portraits I love to include a variety of locations and looks.
4. Trust Your Vendors
Vendors from Landon Estate’s preferred list will know how to maximize the space and execute a seamless event. Every professional vendor will welcome your vision but at the same time will contribute their expertise and experience to make your event run smoothly and ensure an unforgettable guest experience.Therfore it is important to trust your vendors.
