I often recommend couples do a first look because it allows for a relaxed portrait session before the ceremony and helps ease nerves. At the same time I honor couples’ wishes to skip the first look since it is a truly a personal decision. Either way, there is no wrong or right way and what is the most important is to make the day uniquely yours!
Ceremony
The outdoor ceremony lawn is ideal for both small and large gatherings. My goal during the ceremony is to capture both the couple’s reactions and the emotions of their guests. This way I cover the “must have” shots as well as candid, authenitic images that tell the story of an unforgettable day. The backdrop of mature trees and open field creates a cinematic atmosphere.
Cocktail Hour
While guests enjoy drinks on the patio or stroll the gardens, I take wedding party and formal family photos as well as couple portraits. If the couple chooses to have a first look, those portraits are taken before which gives me time to photograph the guests’ mingling as well as additional portraits of the newlyweds.
